Fabric: Uncoventional Use

I've been working on getting my house back together now that Christmas is over, since it's apparently not in good taste to leave your tree up 'til February. (I think someone needs to re-write that silly rule!) So please forgive these shorter posts.

In an effort to lighten up my house, I've been searching for inspiration and came across a great one I thought I'd share:

This is the perfect way to introduce new color into a room, no matter the time of year or season. Three framed pieces of the same fabric used to make the pillows in the club chairs fill the awkwardly tall space above the fireplace, and add a kick of color that otherwise would be hard to achieve at that height.

This beautiful cinnabar/orange would be great for fall, and perhaps spring could host a lemon yellow or kelly green? The possibilities are endless!

So go look through that closet of scrap fabric you've been wanting to use and color outside the lines a little ... you'll never know until you give it a try!
