TUESDAY: Inspiring Spaces by Joan - for the love of a house

Have you ever found yourself lost in a photograph? And if you have, how often? Very few designers create spaces that once photographed evoke a feeling for the viewer ... and likewise, very few designers have the natural talent of my friend, Joan, the creative genius behind the blog: for the love of a house. Every single picture, of every single room that Joan shares with us on her amazing blog, evokes a true sense of calm, sophistication, and the inimitable style that comes from years of collecting only the most beautiful treasures found around the world. Joan has become one of my greatest blog friends, and is most certainly a mentor that I'll treasure the experience of having forever. My words could never do her talent justice, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, and encourage you to stop over and say hello.

  6. ohmy!! dear Artie, what a wonderful thing to find this morning! I thank you for your sweet, kind words. They are a huge compliment coming from you- my "very" talented friend.

Even though I live here;) it is always such a pleasant surprise to see my finished rooms all together instead of on different pages/different posts on my blog!

I am so very honored to be featured on your inspiring blog. Thank you Artie- you are a dear friend indeed and it is an honor to call you "friend."

  7. Artie...
Not surprising that Joan's blog is also one of my very favorites too! I could live in that house with no problem! BEAUTIFUL! Such good taste...most importantly...she doesn't try to make her home into something it isn't...she let it speak to her and then followed it's whispers.:-)

  8. I agree with you -- her home is exquisite in the most homey, accessible, elegant and rustic way -- hard to put into words. She has put together the most brilliant home, and I would give more than I can say to call it mine! I love her blog and her style. Her talent is inspiring. Thank you for highlighting her!

  9. I couldn't agree with you more Artie. In most cases, I believe one's taste in design often reflects who we are and IMO the homes that both you and Joan have created speak refinement, talent and warmth. -Brenda-

  10. I stopped by because of your blog name - I have been using this saying in my business for 3 years and it is embroidered on my aprons - Always color outside the lines! I used to teach this to teenagers also - don't be afraid to be different from everyone else.

Your site is beautiful and inspiring. I will send customers to it for inspiration if you don't mind!

  11. Artie: Totally off subject I see lately that you may have an interest in Gustavian design. IF that be the case and you wish an excellent site for reference on 'grays'; web search A Perfect Gray (Blog, by Donna) Click on her side bar under the title of 'the best gray paint colors'. Hugs hugs -Brenda-
P.S: Was doing some house cleaning on my Computer and had it buried in my favourites. Just thought you might be interested in it.

  17. By taking these precautions and being mindful of your cat's sensitivities, you can maintain a clean and safe living environment for both you and your feline companion. Always observe your cat's behavior and make adjustments as needed to ensure a positive and stress-free experience for them.
