TUESDAY: Inspiring Spaces by Marshall Watson

I first came across the portfolio work of Marshall Watson when a home he designed in Long Island appeared in the July 2009 Veranda. Focused on creating interiors with an understated elegance, Watson has been creating awe worthy interiors since starting his firm in New York City in 1985. A trained actor, Marshall (who is originally from Kansas City) ended up in New York after getting booked on the now cancelled soap opera: As The World Turns. After a few episodes, Watson went on to be a very successful Broadway actor, but ended up eventually being the Marshall Watson we get to enjoy the portfolio of today. Published in Veranda, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful ... and the list goes on and on, Watson is no stranger to positive reviews, so I hope that his spaces inspired all of you - and get you thinking about how to introduce a little color, and perhaps some understated elegance in all of your rooms. Enjoy:

  8. Oh that entry of the St. Louis Sophisticate! I adore, adore, adore a round table in the entry. And the kitchen? So cozy and lived in.

  10. Wow - such incredible rooms and some very personal. I love so many of these vignettes. Great post. P.S. Loved hearing you on the Skirted Roundtable. You know I watched each episode about 3 times, but I am so NOT articulate about explaining what I saw - well done!! :)

  11. Love, love your blog. Great post. BTW, We feel exactly the same about Ralph Lauren. Always look forward with great anticipation to the new home collection. What was one from 2 or 3 years ago that was reminiscent of Scotland? I think that was my favorite. Also, loved Mayfair- great music. Thanks again!

it is in red & cream and had wanted some reds in the kitchen since I have all blue & whites
