I'm still kicking myself for not buying a true french antique gilded chair a while back. It was so old. The fabric was ancient. Who knows what it was worth, but the shop wanted $185. I had no place to put it, so I left it behind. Now I pine for it. Dumb. Won't make that mistake again! Needless to say, I really enjoy them in small doses.
Artie I adore gilded furniture. gilding rubbed over a painted piece. That demilune in front of the mural is gorgeous!

You just need to get you some Louis XVs and have at it with the gilding!
