Hooray for Henredon

I don't know who is leading the signature designer partnerships over at Henredon, but they're doing everything right! Last year the furniture manufacturer teamed up with Mark D. Sikes on a new line of furniture that everyone went gaga for, including me.

The collection included sharp, sophisticated furniture that is designed to evoke a relaxed, California lifestyle.

There was plenty of blue, Chinoiserie, and rattan in the unveiled collection last year, a signature of Mark's. The showrooms also included peeks at his new fabric line with Schumacher.

Henredon really knocked it out of the park with the Mark D. Sikes collection. These pieces appeal to buyers young and old, and have no expiration date. When the famous High Point in North Carolina rolled around last year, everyone was beside themselves snapping photos of Mark's display.

It was really everything we've come to expect from Mark, and it felt 110% true to his aesthetic. This year, Mark's moving away from the calming light blue and white upholstery, in favor of capital B, Bold cobalt blue:

I can't wait to see this completely styled and pulled together! As if that wasn't exciting enough, Henredon announced in late February that they were working with one of my all-time favorite designers, Jeffrey Bilhuber. The collection has been completely hush-hush. Not a single picture has been leaked by either Jeffrey or Henredon, keeping the entire thing an absolute secret until High Point. A few of the pieces have come forward, though:

Admittedly, these pieces are not what I expected from Bilhuber - but I'm sure that if there is a designed and styled set up at High Point, it will be nothing short of brilliant. It has a very "Mad Men" vibe to it, don't you think? It's not my style - but I can appreciate the beauty of it.

The collection for Henredon will feature upholstered furniture, case pieces, decorative lighting and accessories, but will also feature his newly licensed rugs with Elson & Company.

  2. Can't wait to see the royal blue finished, my favorite room you've shown the cream with hints of brown accented by blue and white porcelain. Beautiful. I'm a huge Mark D. Sikes fan too.

  3. Love the Mark Sikes stuff from last year. Not sure about the bold blue? I too am anxious to see the Jeffrey Billhuber things styles by him. Those pieces do look a bit out of character for him....should be interesting!!
