Finally, the Bookcase - Revealed

Well, here it is, the "final" product. I know you're thinking, final ... in quotations?, but I am always changing things, and rarely am I ever happy with something it's first time around. Therefore, it's final for now, or "final".

Remember the beginning:

"How could you let it get like that, Artie?"

"Note to self : Buy Swiffer!"

"Channelling the inner Bob Villa"

"So Pretty in White."

"Even Prettier in Clay!"

"And the books go back, this time - in color order."

And the "final" look.

  1. Oh wow, the bookcase looks AMAZING! What color is it now? It doesn't look clay at all anymore. Well, whatever it is, it's perfect! Do you have the tv to put in that space?
I'm really amazed that you took that piece of crap fiber board thing and made it look like THIS. Wanna come live with me for a while?

This is an amazing transformation! Can you please share how you created the paint treatment? I saw clay then voila! PURE MAGIC!

  15. Great job!!!!!! I wish our books were all in one place, rather than scattered all around the house.
Something I avoid showing, in our family room, is a sprial staircase, it's so ugly.:( I've been trying to talk my husband into replacing it with a regular staircase, where I've had plans on enclosing part of it with bookcases. I don't know if that will ever happen. :( Thanks for sharing.

  16. You did a fantastic job, but what happened to the clay? When I first saw the clay, I thought it might be too bright, but when I saw it in the room, I thought "that's gorgeous", then in the last picture it doesn't look clay anymore. Was that on purpose or is it the light in the room?

Excellent job Artie. And thanks for showing the step-by-step process. Kind of makes me think I could do it. Laurie (bargainhunr)
