Introduction and a Contest

I met Nancy of Hound Hill Designs when I did my interview of Interior Designer and Blog Superstar, Joni Webb, of Webb Designs in Houston, Texas. Joni writes the incredibly beautiful and always inspiring blog: Cote de Texas, which will provide you with an education on anything from color to furniture, architecture and decorating styles, to period classics and the sorted past of their creators.

Nancy e-mailed me to congratulate me on the interview, and to share her joy in reading Joni's blog, and in finding mine. Since, Nancy has joined the ranks of bloggers, with her own blog: Hound Hill Design. Now, Nancy is not just a blogger who loves interior design, she's an interior designer with a gorgeous shop in the Hamptons, NY. Her new blog showcases the journey of her shop from empty cottage to magnificently appointed inspiration station!

In the coral and brown vignette above, Nancy shows us her take on what will be hot this spring. I am in love with the stone lamps, zebra rug, and tortoise bamboo roman shade flanked by those simple coral linen curtains! This blog, and her website are sure to inspire you through the seasons.

This blue and white vignette is one I know almost all of my readers will love. Isn't is beautiful - and it pairs all of my favorites with the classic color combination / print - wicker, silver, and yellow! Visit Hound Hill Design blog for more beautiful photos.

Nancy, who worked in New York City in the interior design field (even under home design super power, Ralph Lauren) opened Hound Hill Design as an interior design store and business. The daughter of an American Ambassador, she grew up in 14 European countries, and says this contributes highly to her design beliefs and inspiration. After all, when you're exposed to the beauty of architecture and design of 14th Century France - how could you not be forever changed?

Nancy is currently having a bit of a contest at her new fantastic blog. If you can find her in the photos of her first posts, she'll send you a Hound Hill Design Lavender Sachet, which retail for $18/each on her website. But you have to hurry - there were only 10 available - and I am sure they're dwindling! So leave a comment here, then rush right over to see Nancy at Hound Hill Design ... I promise you won't be disappointed and tell her I sent you!

Did you get my email? I wasn't sure if it went through or not. I am looking forward to getting your advice on my living room. I think you "get it." Others told me to paint my wood work, etc. No freaking way!!!

"Mrs. Limestone" has transformed her Brooklyn home into something quite lovely. Just thought I'd pass this along to you.

  17. Artie, You've done it again and I'm so grateful. You just have a knack for finding things that call out to me. I'm so happy that you are willing to share this great source of inspiration. Already added it to my favorites. Didn't have the time to comment on your blog yesterday.... but I love your new mirror over the fireplace. Can't wait to see what else you put up there!

  20. Artie! That blue & white room SINGS to me. Thank you for introducing Nancy to us. I've got to add Hound Hill Design to my google reader list. The room is great, and I am moving to blue & white with my living room!

Also Artie, I meant to say, the baskets on the wall above the fireplace are perfect, as is that lantern.
