Day 4/33 : The Master Bedroom Desk

We all need a little place that we can retire to after a long, hard, sometimes stressful day. I have an office (pictures of it will be coming up soon) but sometimes I need a beautiful place away from the glow of a computer screen to look through all the latest design magazines or my newest books.

Here, in the far right corner of our Master Bedroom, I've set up a console table as a convenient "desk" station, and accessorized it with all of my most favorite things. I know that many people are "less is more" when it comes to intimate spaces - but I love being surrounding by the collected things I adore.

A special thanks to my friends "Margaret" who let me cut her out of season hydrangeas to dry for this vignette, Melisa for selling her pewter urn to "Margaret's" husband at our block garage sale, and to "the husband" for letting me borrow it! And thank you to my friend Dorothy for helping to arrange the flowers, and for the vase you'll all see tomorrow, when the dining room turns into a library. Stay tuned, and make sure to Follow Me to be absolutely up-to-date!

  5. I really like your little quiet spot... I have my computer in my bedroom right now while my son and daughter in law occupy my office till they get their new home... And honestly I really like having a little desk in here... I might just leave it like you have done.. for a little spot to sit with a cuppa coffee and the latest copy of Phoenix Home and Garden or a new book!
Beautiful photo! See ya in Day 5! Have a great rest of the week!

  8. A little corner of heaven. Your treasures on the desk are fab and that Picasso print is one of my favorites. I was wondering what you did with your cowhide rug, and it looks great there. The buddha head is fabulous and those hydrangeas and pheasant feathers together are to die for! More Artie magic!

  18. I am "less is more" in my own spaces. It is more soothing to me. But, that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate and love to see other styles. This is beautiful space. I'm really enjoying touring your home.

  26. It looks wonderful. Good job! Bedroom is the best place in any house. As a matter of fact, I have recently written an article about staging bedrooms. And even though I do believe that sometimes less is more, yours looks just perfect.
