SPAM

I've been bombarded lately with all types of spam comments, mostly on my older posts, but a few have ended up in my newer December to Remember series. In an effort to counter, I will be activating the word verification at the bottom of all posts. I hope that this doesn't deter my faithful readers from commenting.

Look forward to another tour de' jour post tomorrow, and my entire house tour on Wednesday - just in time for Christmas.

  1. Spamers and scammers should be hung by their thumbs or other various body parts! Nuff said, except I love your blog. Thanks for sharing, Andre

  2. Me too Artie. I've been trying to block them one by one but don't know that it does any good. The messages I'm receiving are in Arabic!

  3. Artie, I, too, have been left tons and tons of stupid spam...at first it was on all my older posts..I then set it so that comments left after a certain number of days would give me a chance to delete them right then. So far, I haven't had any on my newer posts. What possible satisfaction could one get doing stuff like this?? They are just losers that need to get a life....
ANYway, looking forward to your house tour...

  5. I also have been hit. I deleted 3 off of a post yesterday (the post was a couple months ago). I have now blocked anonymous comments. Will go the next step if necessary. Apparently the problem is wide spread.
    Happy Holidays!

  6. Sorry to hear about this Artie. I've had a few of those too, lately. I have comment moderation activated rather than word varification. That helps 100%, because I can see when it happens on much older posts as well as new ones and just delete at my dashboard. I keep moderation on all posts 5 days and older, all the time.

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and the best of Happy Holidays!!

  7. Yeah, I've been getting those, too. No, I can't reccommend a good security systems or whatever they are pushing. It stinks that some people have to ruin things for everyone else.

  8. Unfortunately I've been getting them as well. I've had to moderate all my comments which I hated to do. I hope they stay away with the word verification!

  10. I realize this NOT the 'Holiday or Christmas Spirit', BUT.....damn Spammers!

Have a full agenda for the upcoming days (just am up early this a.m.) so will definitely try to pop back in for tomorrow's tour déjour.

    Hugs, hugs -Brenda-

  11. The same thing has been happening to me, ever since I got my own domain name. I use comment moderation, so I just reject them from my inbox.

  12. Me too! They love us! They really love us!
I had to block Anon comments for awhile, and I really miss that hate mail ha ha!
Readers- just NEVER NEVER open anything you don't recognize. Get your Russian and Chinese Viagra elsewhere ha ha!

  13. I was wondering what I was doing to invite these unsolicited, tiresome remarks. I may follow your lead. Now, I know what I can do, at least. cheers, -susan

  15. I had to use the word verification, as well. I tried comment moderation but it drove me crazy having to worry about deleting them everyday.

    Happy New Year!
