So after all of the joy I had earlier this week, dreaming of my fabulous gray sofa coming to CDLV to jazz up the joint, the furniture store calls to say that they mistakenly sold the sofa to me, after already selling it to someone else. Not a problem, they say, they'll order one in the same fabric at the sale price they had marked the floor model. Superstitious me, however, thinks this may have been the queen of design saying I needed to keep looking. So ... I'm looking, and looking ... AND LOOKING!
But it's more than sofas, I'm looking for chairs, office desks, tables, bars, shutters (Yes, shutters!) You'd think that I was unhappy with everything. I'm not ... just want a change of scenery (this cabin fever has gotten the best of ole' Artie) and I'm searching for the most economical way to get it!
Til I figure out my madness - anyone got any ideas?
Artie I think everyone is ready for sprintime and freshening up our look at home!!

Artie, I feel your pain. It sounds as if maybe a bit more of a plan will make you feel better and more sure of what you are shooting for. Lot's of gray sofa's out there, don't get discouraged. Look at it as another new opportunity for your creative juices to flow!!!Staying tuned in for the next episode. Love following along,Happy weekend, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteI know how disappointed you must have been, Artie. I think we al get like that, especially after a winter of looking at the same four walls {and our furniture and accessories against them} fo so long. Maybe if you switch things up a bit. Move things from one room to another and see how you feel.
ReplyDeleteArtie~
ReplyDeleteWhen getting my last sofa sectional I really wanted the camel color, but at 3 x the price my hsband said the chocolate will br fine! I went with it and in the end it was exactly what I needed. The camel would have been so out of place now! Things have a way of working out.
Go with it and all will work out in the end!

Artie, I feel the same way as you do and it makes me feel like every room needs a change, especially after looking at the RL site yesterday. Of course, then I went to church this morning and after the Priest's sermon, I was ashamed of myself for wanting more than I already have. :(

I always want to make changes when spring fever hits. My mom used to say that she knew it was spring because I'd always dump my high school boyfriends in the spring! That was a long time ago and luckily, now I want to change things in my home...not husbands!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a huge project...I'm not sure it can be economical! We are making changes in our kitchen. We are waiting for the prices of granite (I have a feeling we may be looking for an alternative option).
It is going to be great ! I am so sorry about the mix up, but you will shine in the end. Love all your work.
ReplyDeleteTake a vacation!! It might be cheaper :-)
ReplyDeleteArtie,
ReplyDeleteI have seen some great shutters on Phila Craig List. You might want to check it out.
I've been into grey lately, too. Hmm...Maybe go with some grey accents and new accessories with what you already have. Who can get enough of fun accessories anyway?
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
So sorry for all that mix up, Artie. But I'm sure once you are done redecorating, it'll all be worth it! Have you decided the type of style you are going to choose for your decor? Classic / traditional? Modern / Contemporary? Transitional?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, wishing you the best of luck :)
Cheers!
Reyna
Good luck. Sofas are always one of the biggest decisions.
