TUESDAY: Inspiring Spaces by Phoebe Howard

I think that we've all been to her beautiful website at least once, right? A constant source of divine inspiration, filled with sophisticated spaces perfectly appointed with some of the finest antiques mixed with contemporary or custom new pieces - Phoebe and her husband Jim are a truly a power couple with hats of every color in the design industry.

With more than fourteen years of purveyor experience, their first store, Mrs. Howard, in Jacksonville, Florida, created a retail space that showcased Jim's architectural and decorating talent, and Phoebe's natural skills for buying, decorating and merchandising. The store was an instant success, and now they've grown to offer stores in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia.

Though I've not had an opportunity to shop in one of her lovely stores, I've poured over the images of her site for more than 2-years, (all vignettes of store displays and a few projects the couple has tackled beautifully!) and wanted to share my favorites with all of you today. Even though I bet you've seen them before, I hope they inspire you all over again! Enjoy:

  1. I was not familiar with Phoebe Howard and I like her work... good balance for both genders.
With maybe the exception of the second and the last picture that are more feminine, the formal dining is somewhat feminine but so elegant I can see men being comfortable in that setting. Those dark walls made the art and mirror pop! Beautiful!
    Great post!

  2. The Howard's Jax and Jax Beach stores are both fabulous.

  3. Phoebe Howard! How I love her design aesthetic. That photo of the alabaster and hydrangeas took my breath away! Now I will be forever on the hunt for alabaster like that. Thanks for inspiring me Artie! ~Delores
