Kitchen Inspiration Month: Day Six - Beadboard Backsplash

I can't really decide whether or not I want beadboard backsplash (to coordinate with the beadboard ceiling) or carrara subway tile. Scott is happy with either, and I've certainly pinched enough pennies in other areas to be able to splurge on the subway. Still, it's not so much about the money and more about the look ... they're both really beautiful. So, today: Beadboard Backsplashes, tomorrow Carrara. Then you can leave me a comment letting me know which one you'd choose! :)

Here we go:

  1. Since we have beadboard backsplashes, I'm already casting my vote for those!

  2. Love the look of the beadboard, however, I already know I would choose the marble subway tile. Hugs, Marty

  3. I'm a country girl and would choose beadboard. I've had square white tiles in a different house, so I know they'd look good, too.♥♫

  6. I am loving the beadboard. Can't wait to see tomorrow's subway tile, but I can tell it's going to be a tough decision!!

  7. I put in subway tile (not marble) over a full, ugly, granite backsplash - and we love it. It brightens the kitchen beautifully and is easy to clean. I'm not sure about cleaning beadboard... but it's beautiful on the ceiling as well!

  8. My new subway tile is going in tomorrow! I almost chose the Calacatta Oro subway, but ended up with just white subway. I like the look of bead board too, but it just won't hold up in the long run. Any water around the faucet will eventually take the paint off. You will probably end up replacing it with subway down the road...Just saying! ~Delores

  9. Ha! Ha! Ha! I'm having the exact same dilemna... Though nothing is done in the kitchen yet, so it's not like I'm in any hurry to make up my mind! Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. Having some glass splashbacks could certainly help you to maintain the cleanliness and beauty of your kitchen!

  11. Our beadboard Panels are cut from 5/8 inch thick premium MDF. The beads are deep and distinctive which gives the panel an elegant shadowing effect.

  12. Having a similar dilemma..what to put over a Carrara counter. I'm going with a ceramic beadboard backsplash. They are 12 x 24 inch tiles. I think the beadboard is more timeless than subway tile.
I actually ride the subway all week and have seen too much of them lately.
