Calico Corners' New Blog

As you all know, Calico Corners is my first choice when sourcing fabrics for clients and my own home. I love their stores, the friendliness of the people, the knowledge! There's nothing quite like walking into a store and knowing the staff by name! So, when I found out that they had a new blog, Design Defined I immediately added them to the left sidebar, and caught up on all the posts I missed.

Charlotte Moss via Calico Corners

A design icon, and a legend really in her own right, Charlotte Moss now has a full line of fabrics available at Calico Corners. I loved this photo of her in her vintage Mercedes roadster, seats covered in her fabric - breaking all the rules! Of course, she's wearing a skirt made from beautiful fabric you can get at Calico ...

Isn't it lovely? And you might remember that Charlotte is no stranger to creating fabrics for loom houses, in fact her Brunschwig and Fils line was and still is extremely popular, and extremely expensive. These fabrics for fabricut, carried by Calico fit perfectly into any budget, and offer us all a chance to have beautiful, designer inspired interiors at a price that makes sense.

I have been drooling over the collection of Charlotte's fabrics to the left, put together beautifully by the creative team at Calico, and used in this room for their newest mailer:

I am such a fan of the linear block paisley, Charlotte calls Thalien (shown in Melon) which so reminds me of the $1000+/yard Digby's Tent fabric, for B et F:

Charlotte's fabrics really do embody her affinity for color, scale, texture, and drama - and the collections for Calico are some of her finest yet.

A less formal room, finished in beautiful Charlotte fabrics on Calico frames, you see how easily these fabrics fit into any space and easily skirt the traditional flavor of her style into funky, bohemian, youthful spaces like this one.

There are over 92 fabrics, and 70+ trims in the collection for Calico, so no worries - there is something for you! I can't wait to grab some samples, then order a yard or two and send them to Gina for pillows! Check out Calico's new blog, and keep your eye on the sidebar for their new posts.

  4. Admire Ms. Moss's design style. When you are my age and hers, thirty-nine (winks) you are allowed to break the rules. :)

Re Calico Corners, unfortunately they don't offer online orders to Canadians. So sad! -Brenda-
