Quick Trip: Longwood Gardens' Red, White and Boom Event!

Well, we just got back from a quick trip to Philadelphia for the July 3rd Fireworks and Fountains event at Longwood Gardens. As you probably already know, we go to Longwood Gardens quite often, but less often than I'd like. When I got the email about the Red, White and Boom event, paying tribute to John Philip Sousa, and celebrating our Independence, I knew we had to go!

The show was 30-minutes of high action beauty, with music, fireworks, and of course, the amazing fountains at Longwood, but what's even better - we spent 4-hours before the show touring the gardens and conservatory, then wandered for an hour after the event to see all of the light exhibits Longwood has this summer. One word: AMAZING!

I'm so tired. We have to fit so much into our little quick trips, so when I get back I need a vacation after my vacation! Do any of you ever feel that way? I took lots of pictures (856 to be exact) with my new camera, which I'll preview and upload this week - but I wanted to check in and say HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY to everyone ... and share a little of the beauty we enjoyed at Longwood:
