Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt - Reuniting?

I was at the grocery store yesterday, and I swear there had to be 8 tabloid covers with "Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston married, again!" or "Jennifer Aniston pregnant, Brad's the Dad!" I looked at Tyler and asked, are they really back together? He didn't know - and as far as the internet goes, I suppose no one does.

Frankly, I don't care. But it DID remind me of her home, featured in Architectural Digest just before her divorce of then husband, actor Justin Theroux.

The house, located in Bel Air, was built in 1965 and purchased by Aniston in 2011. She then renovated it, even though it had just been redone under the watchful eye of architect, Frederick Fisher.

America's sweetheart, sitting on the arm of an antique French cigar chair she had owned with Brad Pitt in the Wallace Neff home they owned together in Holmby Hills, California.

I always found the home interesting and beautiful. Mid-century architecture isn't really my thing, but there was something about this house that really drew me in. I was also so pleased to see that so many of the things we saw in the first house featured of Jennifer's were reused here.

The house is HUGE, with a guest house, pool cabana, and about a 13,000 square feet main house, including exterior courtyard and decks.

A wall of photos of Jennifer and Justin, art of their dogs, and few "Friends" - pun intended. The house was interesting before, sort of what would happen if Piet Mondrian designed a house. Jennifer did great things with this space.

Before Jennifer bought the house ...

After the renovation, Theroux with his motorcycles.

The house has nearly as much outdoor living space as it does indoor living space. Here, in a seating area overlooking the olive trees on the property, these chairs were also featured in her indoor/outdoor space in her old home in Beverly Hills:

Before the renovation, a view from the couryard palm garden into the bathroom

After. The tub was replaced with this custom marble soaker, a Japanese style garden took the place of the palm garden, and that dark blue retaining wall was clad with a gorgeous horizontal plank fence. Love this.

The same bed and lamps were used in her Beverly Hills mansion, also featured in AD:

Outside of the bedroom is a sitting area used for Jennifer's office. I love that tapestry on the wall, and those chairs!

An view into the living room of the house in Bel-Air she shared with Justin. In the background, you see the Robert Motherwell painting she had in Beverly Hills:

And those bar stools probably look familiar, too. Remember this photo from the house with Brad?

Custom Gracie wallpaper in black. Beautiful. Jennifer nearly recreated her Beverly Hills bathroom styling exactly for this shoot.

There have been reports that the house sold as pocket listing. Photos never appeared on any MLS, but the home also does't show that it changed hands, either, still listed as owned by the trust Jennifer set up when purchasing the home for $21,000,000. The house was purchased prior to meeting Justin, so while it likely isn't considered as a joint financial asset, it is where the couple were married, and where they called home for the last 7-years. Understandably, it would make sense if Jennifer sold it.

I couldn't help but wonder though, what would her new house look like? The Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt house, (second try). Their first house was a beautiful French Normandy style home:

And together, they furnished it with a mix of really modern and clean lined furniture. Jennifer has been described as enjoying "zen" interiors. Brad however, owned no fewer than ten homes with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, and they were quite a departure from that "zen Jen" aesthetic.

Take for instance, the home that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie owned in New Orleans. You can tell from the doors behind him on this balcony that the interior house was not going to be sparse. Check out the volume of those drapes.

And sure enough - there it is. Not a zen thing about it. Loads of taffeta on windows, and tables - it's French, French, French. But maybe that was Angelina's doing? Perhaps she leans more traditional, and Brad just went with it? Fair enough. Let's take a look at the Malibu pad he bought right after he and Jennifer Aniston split the first time:

Quite a bit more modern. However, it's not really fair to say that this is Brad's true aesthetic either. By the time photos emerged of the home, Brad and Angelina had been married and I'm sure that if she was leading the design conversations in their relationship, she'd had a hand here, too. I think it's safe to say that if Brad and Jennifer have gotten back together, and are going to be living together, "Zen Jen" will be calling the shots, and the house will look a lot like their Holmby Hills mansion did, here.

  1. I'm all across the board on this one - some things I like, some I don't, but all of it is beautifully done! I like the first space with her sitting on the chair, the photo wall, and her office space, but prefer the outdoor living area on the previous home. I must say, the front bunker-like facade leaves me cold. As for Brad, the great thing about owning so many houses is that you can indulge yourself by decorating each in totally different styles to suit the home's history/location! What fun that would be :)
