Tablescape Thursday: With Good Friends

Ok, so maybe it wasn't a tablescape as much as an ottoman"scape" ...

And maybe it wasn't exactly with good friends ...

but BEST FRIENDS! Yes, indeed. There are nights when Scott is hard at work, or when he's fast asleep where I sneak down to the coziness of my living room, plop myself down on a cushy down pillow, fix myself a delicious snack of lemon curd cookies with sweet vanilla icing and ripe, but tart white grapes and catch up on my weekly reading.
With so much happening around Casa de la Vanderdogan, I've had a hard time finding hours in the day to enjoy my best friends: Veranda, Canada's Style at Home (thanks to MrsBen), House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Southern Living Before and Afters "Special Print", and of course - what collection of friends would be a true collection without Martha, Stewart Living that is.

Tonight, cookies in my grasp (which look beautiful on the gorgeous blue and white plate Rhoda at Southern Hospitality sent as a gift) and Scott's delicious fresh brewed raspberry iced tea I intend to spend some time with these best good friends, laughing, oooing, ahing, and maybe even cringing. You're welcome to join in! And make sure to head over to see Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, and all the beautiful tablescapes that participated this week.

  5. Love your ottomanscape! Nothing like "visiting" best friends -- and most of yours are mine as well (with the exception of the Canadian mag -- I'll have to see if I can find next time I go to Borders). There's nothing like a little pampering of oneself with a nosh and a good read.

Love your plate, but who doesn't like blue and white!

  6. Hi Artie! How cozy! Yes, I love a wonderful snack and some good friends to spend time with. For me, it's usually my old friend, Charles Faudree! I could look at those books over and over and still see things I missed the first time! Love your "ottomanscape!"...Debbie
