TUESDAY: Inspiring Spaces by Ralph Lauren Home PLUS some news...

I was asked to be a part of the 2010 Lewiston Tour of Homes a few weeks ago, before the Nate Berkus madness, and I've had my head wrapped around hundreds of ideas - trying to narrow it down to one great one for each of the two houses I'll be decorating. It's a Christmas themed tour - so instead of making huge design and decor decisions - it's usally all about taking what's there and accenting it with beautifully decorated trees, mantels, and tabletops. USUALLY! hmmhmm, not my case.

So, while I am so excited and extremely honored to be asked to help, I've got a lot to think about - and I've been highly inspired by the luxury of Ralph Lauren and Tartan. So inspired, in fact, that I purchased 20 yards of a gorgeous tartan for one of the houses today - curious?
I'll blog about it soon! Til' then, please sit back, grab another cup of coffee, tea, or diet soda in my case ... and enjoy.

P.S., I just found out that our segment will air Thursday, November 4th. Check out http://www.thenateshow.com/ to find the channel and time details of when it will air in your neighborhood!

  1. I do love the Tartan that RL does -- he does it so well and it does seem so Christmasy (which is perhaps why I have Tartan Christmas dishes!) -- I know you'll do a great job and what a coup to be asked! Can't wait to see the finished product.

We do that here on our Christmas home tour -- take what the homeowner has and then embellish it with Christmas.

  2. I love Ralph Lauren...always have. I have always thought it was definitely a male themed decorating style with a nod towards the feminine side...a perfect blend of both. Good luck and I am looking forward to seeing what you do! Hugs- Diana

  6. First of all, congratulations on being selected! What an honor to be asked to do something like this!

I do love a Tartan Plaid used in certain applications, Artie! Too much can be, well, too much and I'm eager to see how you are going to use it. I'm surprised I still like it actually since I was a Catholic school girl for 8 years growing up in Brooklyn and our uniforms {girls' skirts and X tie} were a red Tartan Plaid.

I'm sure you followed along with the design bloggers who all went to the show in Sept. WE had so much fun, but what a highlight to get your own segment. IN my dreams!
