Lewiston Tour of Homes - Teaser

So, a lot of you have been wondering what I've been up to these past few days. I promise I'll make it up to you in good time! Lots of projects and pictures to follow, but I thought I'd give you a peak into what's been taking up the majority of my time lately. Not at all finished - but certainly enough to give you an idea of where I'm going ... quickly. It's THIS WEEKEND!

The room that I am working on in this particular house is a 1930's addition, with a knotty-pine wall and stacked stone fireplace made from stone found from an old wall that surrounded the original farm. Super inspiring, and rich with history - just like Lewiston, and the epitome of what this home tour is all about.

Again, this is not finished, in fact - there were additions made today after this photo was taken, and the finished product will more than likely be ready for the professional photos this Thursday. Just in time for the tour, right? What's left? You're gonna have to come and see!

I thought that this collection of fresh greens, berries, and pine cones looked perfect in the blue and white bowl and makes a great dining table centerpiece.
There are built in shelves on the left side of the fireplace, that are filled with delightful vignettes, perfect for the holidays!
And the cabinets and hutches are adorned, too! Red Dogwood and fresh greens mixed with fake ones - oh, and gotta love that tartan ribbon, right? Adding this simple touch finished those spaces wonderfully.
If you're in the area, I'd love to see you there. Check out http://www.lewistonhometour.com/ for info and tickets.

  5. Absolutely gorgeous! This is just how I love my Christmas decor! Tons of natural elements, asymmetrical arangements, something a little different with something completely familiar (tartan ribbon). Show some more. You did the nicest job. So pretty!

  11. Looking good, Artie. Looks like this is the year for outdoors to indoors. My trees are up and festooned with pine cones I collected all last year. The mantle is done the same way. Maybe I will post this week too and link to your blog. I can not wait to see your rooms finished. I love a natural look, and have brought the farm to my house this year. Your cabin decor looks to be really inspiring. an't wait until Saturday.
