He's been on the cover of every shelter magazine out there. He's a trend setter, a taste maker, a style savant, and adamant supporter of the the neutral palette. He's Darryl Carter. A Georgetown University graduate (Law School) and Washington D.C. based interior designer.
Yes, I said LAW SCHOOL! But Carter's inherent good taste and eye for the refined allowed for a smooth transition into the world of interior design. A champion of understanding the power of white, and a strong footing in the warmth and natural elegance of a traditional setting; Carter has established a signature style : The New Traditional, which is also the title of his book.
Though photos of his portfolio are on pretty much every design blog out there, I hope you enjoy this collection, which I found to be absolutely INSPIRING!
I love Daryl Carter, what a talent. I am reading his book New Traditions right now. He is amazing and I love the way he articulates his design philosophy,so much of it makes simple and perfect sense. Such wonderful clean and classic interiors with an edge that you feel but can't quite detect why,now that is good design, Kathysue

The image of the black horse in the background of the dining table -- what brilliant use of strong furniture lines. The man was born with such a gift -- thank goodness he left law! More proof that greatness lies within, no matter what your past :)
