Wisteria's Excellent 2011 Christmas Collections

I know it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas, as most of us are worried about what new foods we'll introduce to the family at Thanksgiving Dinner, and whether or not last year's brine was as good as the one from the year before. But, when I saw that Wisteria was offering free shipping on all of their Christmas merchandise, I had to go over and check out what they brought in this year.

Here's a few things I wouldn't mind under (or on) the tree this year ...

How gorgeous is this lantern? I love the patina, the idea of the history it might have once had with it's cross embellishment, and the fact that it holds a taper candle - adore! What's better? It's only $49! Yes, can you believe that!? I'd only want one, because they might not look so "antique" in a group, but I know the perfect place ... oh so tempted!

I'm a fan of all things with a past purpose or history used as decorative objects today. You might remember that in my living room, I have old pocket door pulley wheels on my antique secretaire. Those sorts of things always make me smile, and these bells are no different. Can't you just imagine these strung across a stack of books? They're a little more than the lantern, but still a good deal at $69 for 12 total bells.

And I have to say, that they totally copied my idea here - and Deserae from Peeking Thru the Sunflowers can attest to it! When I was looking for a way to cover up my 16' wall in the second floor foyer, Deserae and I kicked around the idea of my using German Sheet Music from the early 1910's and 20's that I happen to have in a student hymnal that's fallen apart. It would not only protect the sheet music, but also give me a great art installation. I didn't get around to it before the photoshoot so I suppose I can't really claim that they copied me - but I did have the idea before I saw it on the website. And since each one of these framed 19th-century music sheets are $229, I think I'll stick to my idea of framing what I already have. Love the look though, don't you?

These ornaments are so interesting. I've never seen anything like them, anywhere. I love Christmas ornaments, and last year Restoration Hardware had a string of mercury glass beads that I used in my living room year round. I have a feeling that these would be wonderful grouped in a large wooden bread or dough bowl year round, too, don't you?

Anyway, just a few of my favorites - I'm sure there are a ton of things that will inspire you in the new Holiday online catalog, too! Give them a look ... and if you're feeling generous, you know where to find me. KIDDING! KIDDING! (Sorta).    :)

  5. Though I never think about putting up our Christmas Decor until the day after Thanksgiving, so that we can savor the ambiance & hues of Autumn and appreciate each Holiday in all it's splendor... I do enjoy being Inspired by the Retail Industry needing to put up their fabulous Holiday Displays much earlier than most of the rest of us. These are some Lovely Inspirational pieces.
