LOVE ... Rough Hewn Beams

There's nothing more endearing than a room lined with rough hewn beams, whether original to a structure built hundreds of years before we had blog-land and Veranda, or added to new builds today courtesy of decaying factories and the like. Rough hewn beams are, and will continue to be, on the top of dream house list must haves. How about you? What's on the top of your dream house list?

  1. We have lived in a couple of houses wirh exposed beams and I have always loved the look. I like them better when the ceilings are a bit taller than normal..otherwise they feel like they are pressing down on me. Great images, Artie- xo Diana

  3. These are fabulous--and I think rough-hewn is the key. So much more interesting than smooth beams.

  4. I love the hand hewn beams I left exposed in my dining room reno. That is, until I'm taking the vac to all the cobwebs that gather there weekly! ~ Maureen

  6. I especially love natural looking, rough hewn beams, when the rooms are larger and the ceilings high enough, so it doesn't feel closed in. Just lovely!
