I first learned about suzanis at NY Carpet and Home 4+ years ago and was able to buy a beautiful piece in Istanbul 2 years ago. Some are done with silk and others with cotton thread. Hand made...crazy detail!
We have the same list of favorites. Great minds think alike! Ha!
Great blog.... Love your photos and variety of topics and happy to see my project posted but.... How about credit to the designer and photographer....We worked hard on them! Many thanks for including me. Look forward to future posts. Best, Matthew Patrick Smyth
Matthew and anonymous - when I can give credit to a photo or designer, I do ... and I do my best to find the designer responsible for the room before posting. However, most of my photos are found through hours of digging around google and other blogs where the photos aren't credited, and unfortunately that leaves me at a dead end. I do so appreciate you stopping in. In the event that I have found the designer look for the via link at the bottom of that photo. Thanks, A
Thanks... Shame on the other blogs and google for removing our names! Your blog is very good. I posted it on my facebook page so I hope it generates some hits for you. Look forward to your using more of my images... credited I hope! Best of luck. Many thanks, Matthew
Thank you so much Matthew, and if by chance you ever see photos that you know can be credited to you without credit here, let me know and I'll credit them immediately.
I love your work - so I can guarantee you'll see more of it cataloged here.
Thanks for the mention, and I look forward to seeing more of you!
Some very bold statements~ Not for me to LIVE with-but fun to look at and enjoy- xo Diana

I'm loving suzani right now too, but don't have any thing yet. It's a little graphic for me, but still I'm drawn to it. Your photos are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYes it is always informative to see the credits, especially when the subject matter is so interesting....
ReplyDeleteSuzanni's are really wonderful Artie...I agree!
ReplyDeleteInteresting how many show up as textiles for the bedroom.
Happy New Year!
