I think the chalkboard is a great idea in a pantry so you can jot down items for a grocery list when you think of them. I remember the Candice Olson kitchen. The owner had two dogs and there are two elegant dog beds under the desk. Cute, but it wouldn't work for me. My dog prefers my bed or my sofa. All the best...Victoria

Chalkboard are a favorite of mine I collect vintage and I can make a chalkboard out of anything.
