Kitchen Inspiration Month: Day Two - Butcher Block Counters

Designer Credit: Giannetti Architects, Brooke Giannetti - Designer

Gorgeous right? A million dollar kitchen - who could complain?

So, what do you think? Would you use butcher block in your kitchen remodel?

In other news, my friend Lynda from :::FOCAL POINT::: has entered her version of a mancave into an Olioboard Contest, and I'd love if you'd pop over and give her a thumbs up!

  1. So beautiful, Artie. I particularly like the last photo - but all of them have similar elements beyond the butcher block. I'm seeing a lot of white painted cabinets, stainless steel, subway tile, and farm sinks. Are these other elements you'll be introducing!? I sure hope so!

  3. I love the look Artie. My daughter just put them in and she is having a heck of a time keeping them looking good. They put oil on them, but I am thinking she needs to put some kind of a seal on them. I am going to have to research it out.

  4. I have a friend who has them, and she loves them. My kitchen is too dark to have dark kitchen counters, but if I had a new house - you can bet I'd be all to happy to have Butcherblock as a counter top choice. I also love the look of the carrara!
Great series - can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeves.

  7. I really like this idea Artie. I am working with a client right now who really wants to do this and is considering using walnut slabs. I will show her some of your photos, I know she will love them!

  9. I had a big one for years and traded it in a couple of years ago when I remodeled. It was nice but except when brand new it never really looked 'good' and wasn't very practical...you really don't want to chop on them and they do stain. They look great in these photos though.

  10. I don't think I'm going to use them in my remodel. Several other commenters that have or had them, didn't have favorable things to say. I would also be concerned about actually using them to cut on and keeping them looking as they're supposed to, either polished or rough. I also think in most of the kitchens shown, they made the kitchen look more country which is an element I love in kitchens, but not for the overall look. But really enjoying the kitchen parade!
