Mellow Yellow

Designer Credit: Jamie Drake

I've been digging through old magazines, my interior design books, trolling the online sources for more colorful interiors. When you go through a magazine a year or so eariler, and your design aesthetic changes, it really pays to hoard those magazines. For whatever reason, yellow, and I mean YELLOW has been popping off the pages and slapping me in the face.

Don't worry - yellow won't work here. I know that. But it sure makes for a wonderful statement piece.

The perfect sunshine'y' statement - especially on a cold winter, or rainy June day. We've had so much rain these past two days that it has kept me from finishing some of my pressing garden projects. Well, the rain and the 2012 Lewiston Tour of Kitchens. This weekend I finish up my design project with my new client and style her home for the tour, which takes place on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th. 5. My first kitchen was black and white with acid yellow accents. Don't judge. It was the sixties. Yes, I am that old.

  6. I have been dragging around, from country to country, two barrel style, yellow bamboo chairs from my family home in MA, c. 1970's. Some years I won't let them leave the attic and other times, I embrace them wholeheartedly. I don't have the heart to give them up. We are moving to Vietnam next month.... I have a feeling I will embrace them once again. :)
