Oh so lovely ...

I was at Lowes today, and picked up the newest copy of Southern Accent's specialty publication: "101 Beautiful Rooms" and was gleefully overjoyed to see such beautiful and COLORFUL rooms! I also picked a couple of paint colors for my living room ... more on that later!

I've always been drawn to strong color; bold, well designed spaces with an individual point of view. I somehow, along the way, got sucked into the bland and blank, and while I appreciated it - and think that it was beautiful, it didn't energize my artistic nerve.

And let me be clear, I'm not suggesting that if you have a home draped in neutrals it's bad. In fact, I'm a bit jealous! I just think that my house, with it's natural woodwork, and 1920's flow and architecture CRAVES color and interesting "junk" everywhere.

So, gotta pick a color, find a chair, change out rugs, run over to Calico Corners and pick up some fabric, switch out my slipcovers to my beautiful gray velvet slip from Comfort Works, and well - there's just a ton to do! So off to get started.

  2. Yes to color. I always admire and dream of neutrals but can't live with it. Green US my neutral. :)

  6. Color or not...all depends on the room, the light, the space and your mood at the time.

  7. It is so interesting that I do love looking at home in mostly neutrals. However, I need color, interesting pieces and special finds!

Sounds like a copy I need to pick up!
