Taking Shape ...

I love it when a plan starts to come together for a client, especially when it's this beautiful. I know you hear enough of my ranting - so lets just get to the pictures, huh?

When I first saw the room, this is what it looked like. A beautiful space, with doors and windows that look out onto the pool and magnificent view. My client really only wanted to warm this room up a bit. She already had the Ralph Lauren sofa, and her mother had reupholstered the wingback chairs in a rich tan chenille. So, I suggested we add curtains, a few new pillows, and an ottoman to round out, what was otherwise, a really nice room. It just needs finishing touches now - but I thought I'd give you a view of the progress!

I completely forgot to grab my camera, so these were taken with my phone. Please excuse the blur. I used fabric from Calico Corners for the curtains, new brown velvet pillows, ottoman and extra pillow for the sofa. Here's the run down:
Curtains: Ticking/Taupe (not available online)
Brown Velvet Pillows: Banks Velvet in Mink

The curtain rods are from Restoration Hardware, the Brass Estate Crystal collection here. I used the ottoman as auxiliary seating, and to round out the grouping. There's a television in this room, so the ottoman can be moved to make the chairs a little more comfy for movie viewing.

And voila. The drapes are lined and interlined, and back-tabbed to give the look of a pleats without the need for ring and hooks. The lamp (barely seen in the far left) was from the living room, but was moved into this room when we bought new ones from Horchow:

 More on that later ...

So that's where I leave you! Sorry it's so short - but I'm trying to get ready for my whirlwind Thanksgiving trip to Texas! See you soon!
