Well, nothing has changed, really. I'm still very inspired, but when I started working on the guest bedroom, and applying the burlap to the walls, I started to second guess the black ribbon trim and the nail heads. Since I wasn't going to have this amazing lacquered desk, or an incredible wood and tile floor - I needed to get my pop of color in a different way.
Then, I remembered Suzanne Rheinstein had also trimmed a room in grosgrain ribbon. RED grosgrain ribbon, to be exact!
In her Hancock Park home, Suzanne used red grosgrain ribbon to finish off the walls done in a beautiful camel linen. It was this image, that pushed me in the following direction:
